Elite removals.

This man jay from ELITE REMOVALS is a CONMAN , beware under no circumstances use them, check their reviews he will charge you twice and threaten you ! Pay or you don't get your furniture. BEWARE BEWARE,!! Furniture were missing china, broken furniture, they scratched my oak floors, he then tells me he is not insured even though on the form he ticks he had insurance. On his website he has an address in Regent street, their is no such thing, it's just a postal address, other victims has checked this out.  moving is quite stressful , and he appears the day of the moving ,tells you he forgot the paperwork ,, wants you to pay cash, we had to put our furniture on his storage, we weren't allowed to see our furniture or even where our furniture was. He would not tell us. We agreed a price. But when we wanted our furniture back that when he told us that we had to pay another £900 to have our furniture . He threatened us and said if you want your furniture you pay. it was disgraceful!! This is how he works, the same method he has used with other victims BEWARE DONT USE THEM ITS A SCAM!! he is now using another name on company Panther removals.

Amazed they are still going.

I have just found the emails I sent to this company after they stole my things, lied to me and blackmailed me for their return. I thought I would have a look to see if the were still going. I moved in October 2011. They arrived and picked up my things from Bromley at 8am and then did not arrive in Newcastle.  i struggled to contact them and when I finally did at around 8pm I was told the van had broken down and they would contact me. They did not. Over the next few days it transpired that the van had not broken down and they had simply not considered it 'worth their while' to move my things as the people whose things I was to share the van with had dropped out. I tried to explain the concept of a contract and that if they had made a written agreement it did not matter if was 'worth their while'(the contract did mention my things may go with someone elses, which I did not mind, but did not say that it could be cancelled if the van was not full). I was blackmailed for my things and paid another £150 (less than the original £250 they suggested because I phoned incessantly) for them to bring my furniture to my unfurnished flat 3 days later. Needless to say I would not recommend them.

Great guys - but charge extra on the day!

This review is for Elite Removals, Bromley

I wouldn't recommend this company, unless you can get an inventory check before move day.

The removers themselves were absolutely fantastic.

We received a quote based on a list of furniture items and estimated number of boxes for £420.00, which included 30 removal boxes.

They delivered 20 boxes, but loads of bubble wrap.

We organised an inventory, so they could come round and check what was on our list vs. what was in the flat, to get a more accurate quote. They cancelled this 1 hour before (when I had just managed to leave work early to get home in time).

On the day, some items were not needed to be moved (we'd freecycled them), but had more boxes.

The removal company were 1.5 hours late.

Close to the end, they said the van was almost full but they'd try to fit in as much as possible. What they didn't say is that from that moment on they were charging us by the box.

Once they had left the property, they called to say it would be an extra £220 - more than 50% the original quote. It was certainly not 50% more boxes, and no furniture that wasn't on the list (less in fact!). Having all our stuff, we felt at ransom and had to pay.

It really soured the day, and meant we couldn't afford to give the drivers the tip we had planned.

Very disappointed.

I would like to share my experience with this company. Although all the email exchange have been professionals, it was a different story on the day.
I will be brief on the description but that should give you an idea:

- The truck was already half full with someone else's belongings. It took them 3 trips and 5 and a half hours to empty my flat.
- Boxes labelled FRAGILE were roughly handled resulting in glasses being broken.
- My piggy bank with £38 was missing from one of the box.
- A case of champagne was missing until I asked for it and it was found under the seats at the front of the truck.

The follow-up is very poor as well. I was expecting an email or phone call from the company but didn't get any. I sent a feedback today and haven't heard back from them yet.

Removals.

Do not use this company. They seemed very professional until they turned up on the day. They were four hours later than they had originally tiold us they would be. They took every item of our furniture apart and did not reassemble on arrival. They gave us the cheapest quote, and then after they picked up our stuff they accused us of having more stuff than they had estimated in our house. They never gave us a firm delivery date and appeared very flexible about this and then accused us of forcing them to cancel the ferry and rebook, and that they had to get a bigger truck to deliver. They then charged us for storage because they couldn't deliver when we asked. In total we paid an extra 16oo punds more than original quote. We had been in
Ireland a week waiting for our belongings, and they held us to ransom, not delivering our stuff until we paid out the extra money. Several items of furniture were scraped and damaged when they did arrive. The manager Jay was evasive about everything once he actually had our belongings in his possession. He was also extrmely abusive and difficult by phone. The actual loaders and movers were quite nice guys.

Dishonest and unprofessional.

Do not use them. They arrived 3 hours late with a small van, they did not complete the job of unpacking and refused to reimburse; the whole job was poorly planned and management was rude. 3 trips were necessary to move everything and the workers left just before midnight, with the job uncompleted. The whole experience was terrible and very stressful. Whenever we tried to speak to and complain to the manager he seemed bothered and provided no solution whatsoever, rather making us feel as an inconvenience. Again, never use them.

The World's worst removal company?

Elite Removals. Truly incompetent!

Back in November 2011 I aranged for a removal company to collect my things from an apartment in Gravesend, Kent and take them to another rented flat in Rutherglen, near Glasgow, Scotland. I was ill and out of work, so being without funds I got several quotes, and Elite Removals came up with the cheapest one.
I made a terrible mistake. I engaged Elite Removals.
They came as aranged and collected my things. I said “I'll drive streight up to Scotland and meet you there, but if you get to my new place before me, here are the keys so you can drop my things off”.
“Oh, we are not taking your things to Scotland, they are being dropped off at our depot, and will eventually be taken to Scotland as a part load.”
My things were already on the truck. So I accepted the situation. I had no where else to go, so I went to stay with my sister who lives in Lincolnshire.
Time went by and I contacted Elite Removals, and was told “Give us more money, say fifteen hundred pounds?” I replied “I have no money, I am unemployed” “OK, Make it a thousand Pounds more then”.
“I haven't got a thousand pounds!” I said.
So I got on to the Police.
A week later I again contacted Elite Removals, “Your stuff has been delivered”.
End of story, or so I thought.
I had a possible job opportunity in South Africa, so I jumped at the chance.. And spent December and January in Johannesburg South Africa, without travelling to Scotland first to check my things.
The job in Johannesburg fell through, so I returned to the UK, first to my sister's home in Lincolnshire, and then in February I packed up my car and travelled to my rented flat in Scotland.
What a shock and a disappointment. At least a quarter of my things were missing, and of the things that were there, many of those items were smashed and broken. They "lost" my 42" LG Plasma TV, and my 1970's two manual Selmar Armond portable electronic organ was, and remains missing, but they DID manage to deliver the organ's bass foot pedals. They even managed to "lose" my set of four French cast iron saucepans and stand, but they DID deliver one saucepan lid!
So Elite Removals? I think that they should be called "Incompetant Removals. We break, or loose lots of your things!"
I have tried to contact these hopeless people to ask why they did such a terrible job.. But have had no response. Of course because I didn't know that so much of my stuff was missing or broken, for about 2 months, it was far too late for me to make an insurance claim. "Elite Removals" simply seem to have ripped me off.

Avoid Avoid Avoid Avoid.

Used last Friday, 8th June, to move my elderly parents, both over 70 years of age.
Paid for a large lorry for a 3 bed house, turned up late in a luton van and demanded an extra £500 to get another luton van to help.

Would only take half the house, had to pay another company to take the rest.

Refused to do anything with the luton van until they were paid in cash !!
Only 2 people turned up, not the 4 as promised, luton van was a "hire" van.

Lots of furniture was damaged, some did not arrive at the new house.

I will be off to the county court next week to take a summons out.

AVOID at all costs, DO NOT USE.
Please feel free to contact me via my email for any further information.

PLease read.

I tend to not take any notice of reviews but this time I wish I had.
The removal men were late and I had to phone to check where they were. They turned up with 2 men and a very small van. Not what we had agreed or paid for. They also had to leave the engine running as the handbreak was not reliable.
I phoned Jay, the manager, and he said that the other 2 men would be at the new house. They never turned up.
Needless to say, it took 4 trips so we were lucky that we had only moved 2 miles.
The guys that did the removal were excellent and worked their socks off. We dismantled beds, as they did not have any tools. My partner and son also helped with some boxes.
We finally finished at 9pm and were so tired that we slept on the mattress on the floor.
I have never posted negative comments about a service before but feel I need to do on this one.
Happy for you to contact me if you have any questions.

Disgraceful.

An absolutely shocking company.  Came and quoted a price.  Knew how much we were moving.  Then, on the day decided that they wanted to charge us more.  The manager who we contacted was an evil man - he asked for more money or he would not move our property and threatened not to complete the agreed job.  The removals team were awful and before unloading our items, they DEMANDED payment in full otherwise they would not release our property. The van they used was far too small despite visitng us ofr the quote and it sounded like it would cease functioning at any given point.  In fact, they were late in bringing the items over to us due to this precise reason. To add to the insult, the damaged a number of items and claimed that it was not their fault. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.  AS WITH OTHER CUSTOMERS I DO NOT USUALLY PAY MUCH ATTENTION TO REVIEW SITES BUT THIS COMPANY PREY ON YOU AT A VULNERABLE TIME.  Moving home is stressful enough without such individuals.
